Queen's Garden Party 29 July 2010

One of the assessments I had to do from my last training was to organise and run a 'mystery night' for my unit. A while ago I had made up a wide game based on going to a Tea party with the Queen. I adapted this for the girls in my unit.
Activities included:
use morse code with jelly-beans and pebbles (no cellphoen reciption at Buckingham Palace :)
practise curtsies, posture and table manners
make the palace out of straws
create hats for the tea party
make up a skit to perform to the Queen
tear the South Island out of newspaper and show where Timaru is
tell the Queen how the Guiding Laws are similar to some of the laws in New Zealand.

There were a lot of laughs that night and I was impressed with how the compared Guiding laws to NZ laws!

Will post a photo or two shortly
